Driving Test Leaderboards
How does your test centre stack up against the rest of the UK? Our leaderboards rank every active DVSA centre across a range of metrics, from overall pass rates to the best centres for specific age groups and transmission types. With 293 centres and 1.8 million tests conducted in the latest year, the data reveals some striking differences.
At one end, Arbroath leads with a 78.9% pass rate. At the other, Wolverhampton sits at 33.4%. The national average is 51%, but that single number hides enormous variation depending on where you test, your age, and whether you take a manual or automatic test.

How to use these rankings
These leaderboards are a starting point, not the final word. A centre with a high overall pass rate might not be the best choice for you specifically. Your age, whether you're taking a manual or automatic test, and how familiar you are with the local roads all matter more than a league table position. Use the rankings to identify centres worth looking at, then check the individual centre pages for the full picture including monthly patterns, gender breakdowns, and historical trends.
Keep in mind that smaller centres with fewer tests tend to show more extreme pass rates. A centre conducting 200 tests a year will naturally fluctuate more than one handling 20,000. Our leaderboards only include centres conducting at least 500 tests per year to filter out the most volatile outliers.
